Adolescents and young adults with lived experience of cancer have their own set of challenges, placing emphasis on fertility counselling, psychosocial support and follow-up care. Young people pointed out the inconsistent approach to fertility preservation in cancer care across the EU. In addition, young cancer survivors should be part of the policymaking process as key stakeholders to ensure that cancer care truly meets young people’s needs.
