In addition to the ongoing support to Ukraine, preparations should be made for the establishment of a European Defence Community (EDC), in which states that are not members of the EU, e.g. Great Britain, Canada, can also participate. Based on the experience with Hungary, majority voting and exclusion of a Member State should be possible. The main task of the ECG would be the development of European defence companies, operational planning, and a mutual assistance clause similar to Article 5 NATO.
