There is currently a housing problem in several countries of the European Union, especially for young people. However, there are also a large number of empty and disused houses that could be rehabilitated. Efforts should be made to address both problems at the same time by earmarking funds for energy rehabilitation of old buildings and earmarking them for affordable housing for young people.
