A new round of discussions

Better online protection of democracy

Avatar: Official contribution Official contribution

Young people are worried about the amount of information manipulation they see daily on social media. Some suggestions to counter this include reforming how online campaigns are funded and influenced, promoting education and digital skills, and reducing the visibility of bots to minimise discourse distortion. Another suggestion is to make social media platforms more interoperable and decentralised, making them harder to manipulate. What other actions can the EU take to make sure online debates stay fair and democratic?
