Shared Realities, Shared Responsibilities

Avatar Friederike UTSCH

In an intergenerationally fair society, different generations must work together—not only to address today’s challenges but also to shape a sustainable future. To achieve this, we need meaningful opportunities for intergenerational dialogue, where people of all ages can meet, exchange ideas, and develop a deeper understanding of each other’s concerns. Education and training in policy areas that disproportionately affect certain generations are also crucial to fostering a shared reality.

From the perspective of the younger generation, it is especially important that today’s decision-makers do not focus solely on immediate crises but also prioritize long-term challenges, such as climate change and declining retirement security. By doing so, we can ensure a more resilient and equitable future for all.
