Reason for choosing the topic: This topic is important because hate speech and intolerance are becoming more frequent. I have encountered situations where people did not treat differences with respect, which motivated me to seek improvement. Ideas to strengthen respect: Education and open dialogue are key to strengthening mutual respect. For example, we could organise community events where people can exchange views in a safe and supportive environment. Workshops on tolerance, empathy and diversity could help people better understand and respect differences. Role of the European Commission: The European Commission could play a key role in the fight against hate speech and hate crime by: implementing stronger legislation at EU level to protect victims of hate speech. Support campaigns to raise awareness of the consequences of hateful language and behaviour. Funding projects that promote the integration of different communities and mutual understanding. Conclusion: I am convinced that together we can create a society where respect and recognition of differences are preferred.
