A new European budget fit for our ambitions
A driving force behind European action
Free AI and digital skills training for all EU citizens
Technology is changing the way we live and work. To prepare for the future, all EU citizens should have access to free training in digital skills and artificial intelligence (AI). This will help people learn how to use new tools and to evaluate sources critically, to stay updated in the job market and to feel more confident in a digital world.
I propose that the EU invests in free online courses, local training programs, and support for people who need help using technology. The focus should be on both basic digital skills (like using email or online banking) and more advanced skills (like understanding AI or data).
This kind of training is especially important for older people, unemployed citizens, and those living in rural areas. It can also help small business owners, students, and workers in all industries, especially because knowing how to use data and AI often is an important requirement for success in both school and many jobs today.
By offering digital education to everyone, the EU can reduce inequality between people in different areas and social groups, support lifelong learning, and make sure no one is left behind in the digital transformation. Doing this is not just a smart idea, but also a fair and important investment in Europe’s future and in its people.
