It’s not always easy to see how political decisions are made or how they affect our everyday lives. This might be especially true if you live in remote areas and feel disconnected from what’s happening at the EU level. But democracy works best when people are involved. So how can the EU make it easier for young people to feel informed, included, and motivated to take part? What should be the role of schools and non-formal activities beyond schools when it comes to education and awareness raising on democracy? Can youth clubs, sports teams, and hobbies spark political interest? Is face-to-face engagement more powerful than digital engagement? Would (online) platforms that show all the different ways to get involved – from local to EU level – help? How can we ensure that engagement at the local level translates into engagement at EU level?
