Intergenerational Fairness

Have your say and have an impact on policy

We need to go beyond symbolic dialogue- or 'fairness' will remain a slogan, not a reality.

I envision an EU where generations truly collaborate, blending the wisdom of older citizens with the innovation of the young. A flourishing society means more than economic growth — it’s about fostering inclusive policies on climate action, education, technology and social justice. However, to achieve this, we must address the gaps. Younger generations often feel unheard in political decision-making, while older generations may feel sidelined by rapid societal changes.

What is needed now goes beyond symbolic intergenerational dialogue — we must establish tangible platforms that empower both age groups with genuine influence. This includes youth councils with legislative authority and senior advisory boards shaping policy on critical issues such as politics, the economy, education, technology, the rising cost of living, housing, and climate change— all of which will impact us for generations to come. Without genuine collaboration and shared decision-making, fairness will remain a slogan, not a reality.
