Naslov (English)

  • +5.The C. Interg. Justice should collaborate with other EC Commissioners, promoting joint actions to preserve wellbeing of present & future generations

Tekst (English)

  • +It is not the aim of this text to go into detail on possible actions that the Commissioner for Intergenerational Justice could undertake to preserve the wellbeing of present and future generations, but we can suggest some examples of action to promote decarbonization in the mobility sector, working together with the Commissioner for Transport and Tourism, or warn of the danger of backtracking in the obligations of decarbonization of the economy that the amendments to the directives already approved may entail, in particular, the Omnibus proposal that depends on the Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, implementation and simplification. It is up to the Commissioner for Intergenerational Justice to explain to the citizenship the negative impacts that the approval of the Omnibus proposal may mean.
  • +
  • +European citizens should have the right to participate in the debate on the appropriateness or not of its approval and implementation, even more so when the European Commission itself recommends that member states promote the engagement and effective participation of citizens and civil society organizations in public policy making processes.
