Intergenerational fairness as Intergenerational representation. Age:23

Any person would willingly participate in a direct democratic system if they are given both a space and a real incentive. Today, only the space is given.

When we talk about intergenerational fairness, we must first talk about democratic inclusion.
The EU has strong frameworks—websites, initiatives, citizen dialogues—yet very few people know they exist.

As of now, out of 300million+ voting-age EU citizens:
-fewer than a thousand will come across this dialogue platform
-fewer than 3million know about the existence of Citizens’ Initiative
-fewer than a thousand people know about the Representation Offices of the Commission, which serve as a direct communication line to member state citizenry.
(Prove this wrong—show us the data.)

The EU institutions must:
-Provide equal opportunities to all citizens in connecting through official means.
-Actively reach out and invite the people to these platforms.
-Incentivize democratic participation by showing them that their input is impactful.

You can’t create a stable, long-term intergenerational policy strategy with a tiny, unrepresentative sample. There is an urgent need to bring more people into the existing framework.

We need:
– Mass communication campaigns, online and offline, even reaching remote areas (if needed by flyers)
– Better-designed platforms that can handle 10,000+ ideas, with clear navigation and accessible discussion

Democracy and representation do not work if less than 1% of the population knows how to participate.
