Dual use of the battery of an electric car: for the storage of privately generated photovoltaic electricity

Avatar: Peter Heidrich

Pure electric cars have a large battery. These can store several 10 to 100 kWh of energy. Instead of building additional stationary energy storage, the battery in electric cars could store the privately produced photovoltaic power. With the dual-use passenger car battery, households can then autonomously supply themselves for a few days. However, the EU has to create a framework for this dual-use because the batteries are used differently than the car manufacturer planned.
