Creation of a European Youth Mobility Fund
Since its beginnings, the EU has promoted integration through education, culture and cooperation between MS. For this reason, this proposal suggests the creation of a European Youth Mobility Fund, a financial mechanism aimed at facilitating young Europeans to study, work or do internships in other MS.
Its main objective is to remove the economic, social, and cultural barriers that hinder access to these experiences, promoting international training, language learning, cultural diversity and cooperation between educational institutions and businesses.
Although programs like Erasmus+ have boosted academic mobility, their reach remains limited and not always accessible to everyone due to economic inequalities, language barriers or lack of information. This new fund would aim to broaden access for young people from different educational and professional backgrounds, including vocational training students, young workers and entrepreneurs.
In addition, European labor market demands digital, international and adaptive skills, which can be enhanced through international mobility.
The legal basis for this proposal is supported by articles 165 and 166 of the TFEU and article 14 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU, which promote education, training and mobility.
It is expected that this initiative will contribute to improving young people's skills, strengthening European identity and increasing Europe’s global competitiveness.
