Intergenerational links: avenues of action by Ages

Growing up and growing old together? For some a utopia, for others a real lever to guarantee equality and respect for all generations.   We experience life in a continuum of evolutionary and founding generations of our own existences. It is through mutual aid and transmission that our stories show an exemplary interdependence in favour of cohesion between generations.   However, we have an overused view of the links between generations:  “gap”, “fight”, “fracture” between generations. How can we get out of this perception and look with confidence at the coexistence of generations? How can we identify their common interests and highlight their mutual needs and strengths?  Asbl Entr'âges coordinates the Ribf-network of intergeneration in French-speaking Belgium and we have sent the municipalities a memorandum containing concrete ideas for various sectors. This "Call for intergenerational commitment*" for representatives and managers of municipal projects takes up lines of action, it is an interesting tool to draw a social landscape more inclusive, more respectful, more interactive and solidarity between the ages.
