In order to achieve the European Union's objective of non-discrimination (Article 21 TFEU), I propose that the next EU budget set up a subsidy programme to combat discrimination against LGBTQIA+ people. In 2021, for example, some member countries adopted clearly homophobic policies. In response, the European Parliament has adopted resolutions to counter this scourge by making the EU an "LGBTI Freedom Zone" (21 March 2021) or by imposing the freedom of movement and family reunification of rainbow families (14 March 2021). It should be noted that many inequalities persist within the EU for LGBTQIA+ people. Depending on the legislation of their country, they will have more or less rights, more or less protection... For example, some states do not even recognize civil union.

However, in a Union that prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation, it seems to me necessary to compensate for this by allocating a share of the budget to the fight against LGBTphobia. To this end, funds would be made available to finance education, information and training on LGBT issues (both legal and social), activities to combat AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases (ranging from a simple awareness-raising campaign to scientific research) and to establish legal protection assistance for persons discriminated against on this criterion.
