We request that the EU strengthen the financing of transport infrastructure (roads, rail and public transport) in rural areas such as those of the province of León, to facilitate the implementation of educational cultural exchange projects. These projects, targeting young Europeans, require adequate connectivity to attract participants from different Member States. We propose to prioritise these areas in accessing funds such as the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and the ERDF, and to adapt the selection criteria to the rural reality. This investment would make it possible to reduce depopulation, boost youth inclusion and foster territorial cohesion within the framework of the European Green Deal and the EU Rural Agenda.
