On the topic of combating hatred in society, I see mainly pointing out the importance of education about differentities in schools, be it primary, secondary and higher education. I do not want to disparage this form of combating hatred at all, because it is beneficial for a future with greater tolerance in society. How do we deal with hate today? In solving this problem, a large part of the population, which is no longer within the direct reach of the education system, and from my point of view this part of society is most likely to feel and hate other skin colour, sexuality, religion, nationality or opinion, because they grew up in a less open and less globalised world than today’s young generations. How to educate a part of the population that is no longer within the direct reach of the education system? I propose workshops or trainings organised by the institutions of the European Union aimed at combating hatred and regularly communicated to the population through their employers, seeking to create empathy and understanding, or to provide positive examples of differentness and contact with others.
