The Role of Social Media

Today, social media finds ample space in the life of each of us. These are the seat of many expressions of unmotivated hatred, which can be declined in various forms: from comments, to private messages to real posts to encourage hatred towards specific initiatives and people. The algorithm often intervenes to block unjustified manifestations of hate when using words that fall within certain semantic fields. This is often not enough, because sophisticated expressions are often used that conceal a real disparaging intent. This is why we should act to protect every victim of offensive or hate-bearing conduct in a concrete and definitive way, trying to prevent the “guilty” from perpetrating his or her own conduct.
