11:00 AM - 15:00 PM CESTOn April 16th, as part of the residential program on the teaching of happiness organized in Fiano Romano by the Italian Center for Permanent Learning (CIAPE), an exercise of the future will take place through the backcasting method, used as a tool for participatory strategic planning. The participatory process will start with the vision of a desirable future: the affirmation of the Pedagogy of Beauty and its dissemination at European level with the establishment of a minimum of 10 ‘Poles’ and 100 trained Beauty Ambassadors. In this context, the backcasting exercise will be developed, focusing on the perspective to 2040, identifying backwards in time – with a particular focus on Erasmus+ 2034-2028 – the enabling conditions, the possible obstacles between the periods considered and the related actions to mitigate or avoid them. The set of conditions, obstacles and actions identified will facilitate the representation of a timeline that crosses the vision. Following the performance of the exercise of the future, we intend to include a contribution in the relevant section for a return of the results of the activity developed. Event report
The backcasting exercise involved 18 professionals working in different contexts on happiness education, organised into three working groups. The first part of the activity was dedicated to the identification of enabling conditions, obstacles (STEEP analysis) and actions that can avoid or mitigate obstacles within the 2034 – 2028 timeframe, in line with the upcoming Erasmus+ programming and depending on the achievement of the shared vision to 2040 with a desirable future in which to affirm and spread the Pedagogy of Beauty® in Europe with the establishment of at least Poles and 100 trained beauty ambassadors. The future exercise was then concluded with a call to action of actions to be taken by 2027 through a stimulating operational proposal that plunged the groups into a flow process: a path of reverse storytelling consistent with the hero's journey using the Eurekards, a creative deck of cards created by the brilliant mind of Jaoui Hubert, one of the leading experts in creativity applied to management. In a contribution we will include the outcome of the future exercise with the return, in particular, of a first qualitative analysis of the experiential evidence of a qualitative nature that emerged in the first phase of work.
