A new European budget fit for our ambitions
A driving force behind European action
Making the EU budget more youth-friendly
The future EU budget must be more youth-friendly. This means that it consistently takes into account the interests of young people. Erasmus+ needs more funding so that as many young people as possible can have an experience abroad. European long-term voluntary services (currently supported by the European Solidarity Corps) also need to continue to be promoted. This requires sufficient financial resources. In order to make funding more accessible to young people and youth organisations, application procedures should be reduced. The application volume and funding amount must be more proportional to each other, so that less effort is required for small funding amounts. Further information: https://www.dbjr.de/article/designing the multi-annual financial framework for EU youth justice The EU should strengthen the rights of children and young people. This means, for example, enabling high-quality participation of children and young people in policy processes, combating poverty among children and young people, effectively promoting the mental health of young people and ensuring that young people have access to affordable housing. The EU should also be strongly committed to social-ecological transformation, legislate and provide funding.
