Intergenerational Fairness
Have your say and have an impact on policy
Vision of a Decentralized governance
Imagine a world where National governments and municipalities have intergenerational consultation bodies / advisory boards where participants from different age groups and socio-economic backgrounds, including minority communities and experts meet to discuss and provide feedback on policies and actions of the institutions. After the feedback, a tracking mechanism will be put in place to track and monitor the implementation of such feedback into the policy/action.
All citizens concerned by policy decisions are empowered to contribute to the design of policies. Citizens - including young citizens - have time and resources for truly being citizens - our society is so much focused on economic and private dimensions of life there is little time, energy and resources left for contributing to public and political life on a daily basis.
Citizens re-gain their trusts in institutions since they are held accountable. In schools, children learn citizenship education, and this will help them be more conscious about their rights and duties and be active citizens.
