Promoting Active Ageing and Remaining in the Labour Market
Design policies that encourage voluntary stay in work for older people, rather than mandatory penalties for early retirement, taking advantage of increased life expectancy. Encourage lifelong learning and reskilling throughout working life to adapt older workers to new market demands. Improve working conditions to reduce the gender pension gap (currently women have lower pensions due to contribution gaps or lower wages), ensuring equal pay and facilitating reconciliation.
