As the tree, so the fruit....

The phrase “As the tree, so the fruit” or in the German language: Like the Lord, so the scissor refers to what role models, parents, politicians, religious leaders, teachers pretend to other people. And then imitate the mentioned ones. Often in an even stronger way. No shame, no bad conscience, but the leaders do too. Then I can do that, too. If you look around the last 10 years in politics, in society, the share of hate speech has increased massively. This year I will be 74 years old, in my youth I knew the word hatred in political language only from the socialist states: There it was said: Hatred of the class. The term hatred was otherwise unused. It was only in recent times that statements made, in particular by critics of current political decisions, were massively described as hatred. I have the impression that particularly political decisions, which often cannot be rationally justified, have been banished from the political context as hatred and thus as unfounded. Examples include refugee policy, coronavirus policy, climate change policy and policy measures in the context of the conflict (war) between Ukraine and its allies and Russia. There are and have been many divergent opinions on these fields of action within the Union population, which have also failed in different election results.1/2
