Real resilience instead of digital illusion – Back to basic skills!
In the debate on crisis preparedness, we rely far too much on the expansion of AI and digital warning systems. But what happens if the Internet fails in a real catastrophe or the electricity is gone? The AI will then not be able to tell us how to help ourselves. We must honestly admit that most people have become comfortable and don't worry until it's too late. We need to move away from pure technology-believing and towards practical capacity for action. I suggest: Promotion of self-catering associations: The EU should support local communities that maintain and share practical knowledge on food production, water treatment and artisanal crisis relief. Precautionary obligation in educational institutions: We need mandatory projects and AGs in daycare centers and schools. Children should learn from an early age how to plant a bed or how to cope without electricity. This is not ‘fear-mongering’, but a necessary tool for the future. Incentives to Convenience: Precaution must become visible and attractive in everyday life before the emergency occurs. We need physical places of encounter and learning in every municipality, not just online portals. My appeal to the EU: Invests less in complex algorithms and more in citizens' self-sufficiency. True resilience arises in the garden and in the neighborhood help, not in the cloud! Greetings from Stephan
