A new European budget fit for our ambitions
A driving force behind European action
Trainees, not free labour
Small businesses represent a fundamental pillar in the European economy, however, due to their limited profit margins, many of them face difficulties in offering paid traineeships to students, which makes it difficult for many young people who have to work at the same time as they do the traineeships and study to be able to afford a decent life To ensure that students gain professional experience without this representing an unsustainable financial burden for small businesses and for the students themselves, we propose the creation of a European Union grant programme aimed at partially or fully covering the costs associated with paid traineeships. Main objectives of Proposal 1. Facilitating the labour market integration of young people: Provide students with real learning opportunities in fair work environments 2. Reducing the financial burden on small businesses: Support them financially so that they can offer paid internships without affecting their economic sustainability. 3. Promote a fair standard of practice: Ensure that internships are not a form of unpaid covert employment, promoting fair conditions for students.
