How to increase honey production in the EU?

Avatar: Ivan Zubović Ivan Zubović

In order to increase honey production in the EU, it is necessary to provide the necessary machinery for the transport of bee companies. Instead of favoring hobbyists beekeepers so far, it is necessary to increase the number of professionals. The migration of bees raises honey production several times. This is a demanding undertaking for which there is no adequate machinery on the market. In this regard, it is necessary to develop a tractor and trailer vehicle to transport at least 100 hives in one tour. It is possible to easily remanufacture existing special vehicles. Professional beekeeping is one of the few activities that can attract young people to return to rural areas. It is also necessary to deregulate regulations in order to facilitate the work of professional beekeepers as much as possible. This is the only way to avoid a shortfall of about 360,000 tonnes of honey on the EU market. Natural resources exist only to be exploited. Instead of the current concept: rationalisation of the costs of migrating beekeeping, the concept of: encouragement of migratory beekeeping through the procurement of modern mechanization. The period of depreciation of equipment and return on invested funds in beekeeping is extremely short and in better seasons can be shorter than 5 years. You can find more details on this in my long-standing correspondence with the European Commission and the domestic authorities to which the bureaucracy referred me.
