A new European budget fit for our ambitions

A driving force behind European action

Trade agricultural contribution against defence contribution

Avatar: Johannes Crol Johannes Crol

The EU traditionally spends a lot of money on agricultural subsidies. It would be nice if that contribution were spent on common defence. Dir practically means a few things: 1. Common foreign policy on the basis of a qualified majority 2. Common defence policy based on qualified majority 3. Giving up country autonomy in the field of defence. So "a European Pentagon" that includes the country armies. 4. Central allocation of resources, also for the country-armies 5. Country borders do not apply to the armies I understand that this goes far beyond what many countries are willing, or should I say, were willing to do. But because the US and Russia are changing the rules of the game, the EU must do the same. And fast!
