A new European budget fit for our ambitions
A driving force behind European action
More money for mental health supports and easy online support for all citizens
Many people in the EU are having problems with their mental health. This includes stress, depression, and anxiety. The EU should include more money for mental health support in the next budget. The money could be used for:
- A free online platform where people in every EU country can talk to mental health professionals, get information, and find support in their own language.
- Training for more mental health workers, like psychologists and counsellors, especially in countries where there are not enough.
- Education about mental health in schools and workplaces, so people learn how to take care of their minds and help others.
- Support for cross-border pilot projects and research on mental health, including long-term effects of crises such as COVID-19.
Mental health is important for everyone and is just as important as physical health. It helps people live better lives and work better. Helping people early also saves money in the future. That´s why the EU should make mental health a Part of the next budget.
