A new European budget fit for our ambitions
A driving force behind European action
EU Culture Pass – Access to Culture for All Young Europeans
I propose the introduction of an EU Culture Pass for young people between the ages of 16 and 25. The pass would include an annual credit, accessible via an application that can be used to access cultural offerings across the EU-such as museums, theatres, exhibitions, European movies, or interactive workshops.
Cultural activities are often overlooked during this phase of life, which is why targeted support is necessary. Especially today, cultural events are more important than ever. They not only foster creativity and critical thinking but also provide space for dialogue, reflection and new perspectives. All of this is essential for an active citizenship and democratic participation.
The Culture Pass would ensure equal access to culture regardless of income or background. At the same time, it would strengthen intercultural exchange and highlight the cultural diversity of Europe. Shared cultural experiences help foster European unity while also providing essential support to local cultural providers across the continent.
In short, the EU Culture Pass represents an investment not only in the cultural participation of young people, but in the social, democratic, and cultural fabric of Europe as a whole.
