Intergenerational Fairness
Have your say and have an impact on policy
What would have to happen to make a prosperous EU a reality?
Intergenerational pacts in each member country. Long-term agreements between governments, civil society organizations and citizens to ensure intergenerational justice: sustainable pensions, decent employment for young people, affordable housing and strong public services. Reform of education and labour systems. Include 21st century skills training: critical thinking, collaboration, digital ethics. Provide quality jobs for young people and second careers for older people. Promote intergenerational social entrepreneurship. European intergenerational forums and councils. Create permanent institutional spaces where people of different ages participate in the development of public policies. Massive investment in social cohesion. European funds for projects connecting generations: intergenerational housing, volunteering between older and younger people, technology accessible to all. Cultural narratives that celebrate the encounter between generations. Film, literature, social media and media should reflect and promote an image of collaboration between ages as a driver of progress.
