Enhancing public education for a fair and sustainable future

In Italy, public education is one of the fundamental pillars for building a prosperous and fair society, but too often it does not receive the appreciation it deserves. Public schools are the place where future generations can train, acquire skills and values, but it is necessary that a deep reflection on teaching methodologies is made. Today, more than ever, it is essential to renew and innovate the pedagogical approach, so that it responds to the needs of a rapidly changing world, focused on sustainability, inclusion and equity. In addition, young people must be heard in the educational process. Their voices, experiences and perspectives are key to building a school system that not only transmits knowledge, but that truly prepares for the life and challenges of the future. Public education cannot only be a guaranteed right, but must become a real opportunity for every individual, where every young person can express his or her potential and actively contribute to society. To do this, a joint effort by institutions, teachers and civil society is essential to rethink education so that it is truly a driver of change and growth for all.
