Young people called for Arctic Indigenous Peoples to be actively involved in decisions that affect their communities and the environment

Participants highlighted the Saami (the recognised Indigenous People of Europe’s Arctic) model of community-based governance as an example of how traditional knowledge and collective decision-making can help protect nature.

How can we make sure Indigenous voices are heard in EU climate policies? What can we learn from Indigenous ways of living in balance with nature?
