Youth Policy Dialogues

A new round of discussions

A More Democratic Europe Starts with Real Youth Participation

Young people want more than just a seat at the table — they want their ideas to shape real decisions. They called on the EU to take youth proposals seriously and make sure they’re included in all areas of policymaking, not just as a symbolic gesture.

For participation to be meaningful, it has to be inclusive. That means reaching out to young people from all backgrounds — rural areas, different regions, and communities that are often left out. Working with local and national organisations is key to making sure every voice is heard.

They also said that Youth Policy Dialogues are just one of many ways to get involved. Youth goals like sustainability, mental health, and fair jobs should be fully integrated into EU laws, programmes, and budgets. For young people, democracy means action, diversity, and equal chances to shape the future.

What more can the EU do to turn youth participation into real influence? How can young people help make democracy more inclusive and action-driven?
