Participants argued there is still not enough understanding of diabetes, especially in schools and sports clubs. They called for more awareness campaigns and for proper training for teachers and coaches, so young people with diabetes can join in safely and confidently. Lack of knowledge, they said, often leads to exclusion or fear of mishandling a situation like hypoglycaemia. For them, real inclusion means giving all young people the chance to stay active without stigma or barriers.
