Mental Health and Support: Tackling Cyberbullying with Care

Avatar: Official contribution Official contribution

Young people said that cyberbullying’s psychological impacts are a major concern, often leading to anxiety, depression, and isolation. They stressed the importance of support to break the victim-to-aggressor cycle, explaining that without help, harm can spread and repeat.

To prevent this, they proposed healthy alternatives to screen time — like sports, creative hobbies, or volunteering — to help young people find balance and feel good offline. They also called for awareness campaigns that make reporting feel normal and safe, and for digital spaces to be inclusive and welcoming, where everyone feels respected.

What could help young people feel supported and safe — online and offline — when facing cyberbullying?
