A new round of discussions
Making the internet safer and more accountable for everyone
Young participants proposed introducing a digital ID to access social media — a way to boost accountability and help reduce cyberbullying and online hate. They shared concerns that anonymity can sometimes be misused, allowing harmful behaviour to go unchecked.
At the same time, they recognised that anonymity can also be a shield, especially for users in vulnerable situations.
For young people, creating a safer internet means finding the right balance — between accountability and privacy, freedom and protection.
What could social media platforms and schools do to help make the internet a safer and more supportive space for everyone?
