Youth Policy Dialogues

A new round of discussions

A Safe and Supportive Europe Starts with Wellbeing

Avatar: Official contribution Official contribution

Young people want EU policies to put people’s wellbeing first — making sure everyone feels safe, supported, and included. They called for stronger backing for civil society and youth organisations, which help build trust and community. Financial security and access to good jobs are also top priorities, with young voices asking for fair pay, training, and long-term opportunities.

At the same time, young people recognised that safety isn’t just about jobs or housing — it’s also about defence and security. They said Europe should invest in strong defence policies that protect individual freedoms, while continuing to support cultural and educational programmes like Erasmus+ that connect people across borders. For them, a truly safe Europe is one that balances protection with opportunity, and security with solidarity. What would most help young people feel safe, supported and included accross the EU ?
