EU Children’s Participation Platform helps children and teens under the age of 18 connect and talk to policy makers and decision-makers. They discuss topics that affect their lives and activate their rights as EU citizens.

During the 2 nd General Assembly of the Platform (https://link.europa.eu/h97VR8), 80 children aged 10–17 discussed some of the big issues that matter to young people across Europe.

Over two days, participants shared ideas and created a Call to Action for the EU and national decision-makers that was presented at the 15 th European Forum on the Rights of the Child (https://link.europa.eu/3P6RRG).

Among the topics discussed during the event was climate action, explored from the perspective of the decline of wild pollinating insects. The workshops on this topic were run as an ‘Assembly of Beings on Pollinators’, where participants tried to think about the issue not just from their own perspective, but also from the perspective of other living beings impacted – like the pollinators themselves. Based on the discussions, participants prepared several recommendations and calls to action.
