Establish an independent and public auditing body on the application of the current rules of pollinators’ protection (at EU and member state level)
This body, under coordination of the EU, will ensure monitoring of the current rules on pollinators protection. It will proceed with measurements before the implementation of conservation measures, during their application, and after completion, using a set of clear ecological and performance indicators.
Member States (and potentially stakeholders) would be required to submit annual reports to the European Union detailing compliance with the conservation measures, ensuring transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Funding and financial incentives should be linked to outcomes, so that effective measures result in additional support.
