The Commission should focus on the diversification of resources across the energy mix. First, we need to reduce unsustainable energy consumption as such. In the second place, there is a need to promote green transition in countries that do not yet have renewable energy sources. Thirdly, it should fully decouple itself from dependence on fossil fuels that come from states that may pose a security risk. Just as we have been able to get rid of our dependence on Russian energy sources, we should also address other states that pose a security risk in the future.
