Launch EU-funded pilot programmes promoting shared housing models between older and younger people (e.g. students or young professionals), where young people can receive affordable housing in exchange for support or companionship for older people, addressing both the youth housing crisis and loneliness in old age. Leverage and expand existing initiatives such as DiscoverEU to foster mobility and cultural exchange not only between young people, but also between different age groups, promoting greater mutual understanding and social cohesion.
