Intergenerational justice
In the context of the impending climate catastrophe, intergenerational justice means for me above all an effective climate and environmental protection. Only by massively reducing CO2 emissions, increasing the CO2 tax and eliminating climate-damaging subsidies can the basis for living space for future generations be created. At the same time, the older members of our society should be remembered. Although we live longer, the proportion of healthy years does not necessarily increase. It is therefore necessary to invest more in prevention programmes (vaccination, screening, etc.) and access to the so-called healthy lifestyle should be affordable (e.g. lower taxes on fruit and vegetables across the EU). Furthermore, cities should be adapted to the needs of all age groups (e.g. more public transport, no curbs) - many of these changes also have to do with climate fitness. The pension system has to be changed. I would like to see more options and less taxes in the third pillar (private pensions). This could also be promoted across the EU and the EU could also participate in programmes that inform young generations and raise awareness of the need for preparedness.
